Its happened!

Today, Thursday 20th June @ 20.51hrs GMT - by the time this is posted, yesterday, is/was the summer solstice. The 'longest day' and 'shortest night' of the year. The day the number of hours of daylight are at their maximum, while the number of hours of night are at their minimum.

From here its down hill - days get shorter, nights longer a shift that is for now imperceptible as we enjoy the long summer evenings . Better still the sum has taken back control of the sky after what seems to have been never ending rain. The sky and sea are blue, the sailing boats bob and weave with the wind in the bay, the children dig and build sand castles on the beach, the ice cream flows and the gulls gorge on an endless supply of the holiday makers discarded fried fish - life at the seaside is as it should be.

Time to enjoy
